Installing QuomodoX Apps on Android
This page applies to every app we distribute directly. It takes about two minutes, and your phone will show you a few warnings along the way — below is exactly what you'll see and what to tap.
Before you start
You need an Android phone (Android 8 or newer).
- Use Wi-Fi, or make sure you have enough data for the download.
- Our official download page is https://qdx.mystrikingly.com/3 — every app we distribute is downloaded from there, and the app files themselves come from downloads.herbeye.net. If a link you were sent points anywhere else, don't install it.
Check the app's own page for its file size and the permissions it uses.
- Step 1 — Start the download
Tap the Download button on the app's page (https://qdx.mystrikingly.com/3), or scan its QR code. Your browser will begin downloading a file ending in .apk.
You may see: "This type of file can harm your device. Keep this file anyway?"
Tap: Download anyway (or Keep)
Your browser shows this for every app file, from every source. It has not found anything wrong — it simply cannot inspect app files the way it inspects ordinary downloads.
Step 2 — Open the downloaded file
When the download finishes you'll get a notification. Tap it.
If you missed the notification: open your Files app (My Files on Samsung), go to Downloads, and tap the .apk file.
Step 3 — Allow your browser to install apps
The first time you do this, your phone will stop and ask permission. This is a one-time setup — once done, it applies to any future app you install this way.
You may see: "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source."
Tap: Settings → turn on Allow from this source → press the back arrow
You'll return to the install screen automatically.
To find this setting yourself — works on any Android phone:
Open Settings
Tap the search icon (🔍) at the top
Type install unknown apps
Tap the result, find your browser in the list, and turn on Allow from this source
Don't go hunting through the menus — the search works the same on every phone, whatever the make.
If your Settings has no search box, tap here for the menu path

Step 4 — Tap Install
You'll see a screen showing the app icon and the permissions it uses.
Tap: Install
Step 5 — The Play Protect warning (this is the important one)
This is the step where most people stop. Please don't — here is exactly what it means.
You will see: "Play Protect doesn't recognise this app's developer. Apps from unknown developers can sometimes be unsafe."
Tap: More details → then Install anyway
What this warning actually means: Google recognises apps that have been downloaded many thousands of times through the Play Store. Our apps are distributed directly, so Google has no download history to match them against — so it says "unknown developer."
What it does not mean: Google has not scanned the app and found a virus. If it had found something harmful, the message would say so plainly and would not offer you an "Install anyway" option at all.
You may also be asked "Send app for scanning?" — tap Scan app if you'd like Google to check it first. It will come back clean.
Step 6 — Open the app
When it says App installed, tap Open. The icon will also appear in your app drawer.
On first use the app will ask for the permissions it needs to work. The app's own page lists exactly which ones it asks for and why — nothing is requested that the app doesn't need.
If something goes wrong
"App not installed"You may already have an older copy on the phone. Uninstall it first, then install again.
The download won't start, or the file is 0 KBYour connection dropped partway. Delete the file from Downloads and tap the download button again.
I can't find the downloaded fileOpen Files → Downloads. On some phones it's under Internal storage → Download.
The link doesn't work when I type it inPlease tap the button on the app's page instead of typing the address by hand — web addresses are case-sensitive, and one wrong character will fail.

Questions people ask
Are these apps safe?Yes. They are published by QuomodoX, LLC. The warnings you see are Android's standard caution for any app installed outside the Play Store — they concern where the app came from, not what's inside it.
Why not the Play Store? Some of our apps are still working through Google's review process, and direct download lets you start using them now. Where a Play Store version exists, we link to it from the app's page.
Will apps update themselves? No. When a new version is ready we'll announce it, and you download and install the new file the same way. Your saved data stays where it is.
Can I share an app with someone else? Please share the download page (https://www.quomodoxllc.com/3), not the file. That way they get these instructions too, and always get the newest version.
